Graphic Design Program
General Information About the Program
The graphic design program focuses on visual communication and creative problem solving, training individuals to produce aesthetic, functional and innovative designs. This program provides fundamental knowledge and skills for designers working in digital and print media. It includes courses such as typography, color theory, illustration, digital design, photography, brand identity, web and mobile interface design, user experience (UX) and user interface (UI). Students have the opportunity to develop a strong portfolio using common design tools and current technologies such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
During the education process, students develop both theoretical and practical skills by taking part in projects such as posters, logos, books, magazines, digital advertising, social media content. After graduation, graphic designers can pursue careers in advertising agencies, media organizations, digital agencies, publishing houses and corporate firms; they can offer original and effective visual solutions in creative industries. The program offers a comprehensive education that brings together design aesthetics and technology to ensure success in both artistic and commercial projects.

Double Major / Minor Programs
Double Major Program: Allows students to earn a bachelor's degree in a field they are interested in, in addition to their primary field. In this program, students can complete courses in two different fields and earn a diploma in both fields.
Minor Program: Allows students to take a certain number of courses in a field they are interested in, outside of their major. Students who complete the minor program are given an official certificate in that field; however, this does not mean a second undergraduate degree.

Exchange Programs
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university, either domestically or abroad, for a certain period of time. Thanks to these programs, students have the opportunity to learn about different cultures, develop their foreign language skills and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programs include programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana and Farabi.

Purpose / Objectives of the Department / Program
The main purpose of the Graphic Design Program is to train designers who can offer creative solutions, develop professional projects and have innovative thinking by using visual communication and aesthetic design principles. The program focuses on providing students with design skills, developing their visual expression skills and enabling them to use contemporary design tools effectively. The goal is to ensure that graduates have a strong portfolio in different areas of the sector and prepare them to adapt to the ever-evolving world of graphic design.
Current Status and Future of the Department/Program
The graphic design sector is growing and diversifying day by day with the rapid advancement of digitalization and technology. Today, social media, web design, mobile applications and digital content production have become important parts of graphic design. The program adapts to this dynamic structure and teaches students both traditional and digital design techniques, providing practical and theoretical education suitable for sectoral needs. In the future, it is anticipated that new trends such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality (AR) and user experience design will shape the sector, and the programs continue to provide education in an innovative manner in this direction..
